Volunteering Journey

Volunteering is something that I planned to do someday. However who would have thought that it came so fast.  I figured how hard can it be. I am giving my services for free. Boy! I was wrong. Here goes my very first journey to volunteering.

The orientation before volunteering at this place, was interesting. I was filled with enthusiasm to begin this journey. Couldn't wait to get started. 

After a few sessions of volunteering at this place, I am like 😵‍💫&😩. I have found it rather stressful, confusing and frustrating. I felt like I am working for this place for free. It does come with benefits but it wasn't what I was looking forward to doing as a volunteer. I seem to have lost my understanding of my main purpose of volunteering. Is it to help the staff or is it to help others in need? Somehow I felt that I am more like helping the staff and haven't done anything that really help others. Just isn't the kind of volunteering I was expecting to do. I seriously need to rethink this through 🙄🤔.

However, you don't have to agree with me. This is just my opinion, my say. 

Foreign Workers

Over the years, many Singaporeans have been very angry about jobs being filled by foreign workers. This has caused a great impact on many Singaporeans going jobless. 

How many of us have actually stop to think, is this really the fault of foreign workers? Foreign workers are also humans just like all of us, finding a way to earn money. Company have openings, they apply. Can we blame them? If company has quota to hire foreign workers, of course they will if they meet their requirements. Besides, Singaporeans expectations are hard to meet. For one, is the salary expectation. Other than that, long working hours, the kind of job requirements and etc.
